Many Will Be in Heaven ?
Many Find the WAY ?
How many will be in Heaven ?
The Bible gives us a clue below when it
says that: "few there be that find it." We might ask,
how few ?
Enter ye in at [through] the strait [the narrow] gate: for wide is the
gate, and broad is the way [road], that leadeth to destruction
[leads to eternity in Hell], and many there be which go
in [enter] thereat [through it]:
Since the Bible suggests comparing a
narrow way (road) with a broad way (road) to get the answer,
let's quantify this example.
Because strait [small] is the gate, and narrow is the way
[road], which leadeth unto life [leads to eternity in Heaven],
and few there be [only a few] that find it.
A narrow way or road such as a
single lane country road may be only about 10 feet wide.
The ratio in this example is
on the order of 1 in 40 (400 divided by 10). How many will
be in Heaven? This example would conclude that only about
1 in 40 goes to Heaven.
A broad way or road such as an urban
expressway with numerous lanes going both ways can easily be about
400 feet wide.
Few (1 in 40) there be that find
it (eternity in Heaven).
Let's examine another example.
On August 3, 1979, Howard Pittman describes (in his booklet "Placebo")
his near-death experience. While the physicians were working
on him, he suffered physical death.
This is only about 2.5% of the
world's population making it to Heaven.
Many (the other 39, or 97.5%) go
to destruction (eternity in Hell).
During this death interval, he was permitted
to watch 50 saints (true Christians) enter Heaven.
It was explained to him that "at the same time those 50 saints died
on Earth, 1950 other humans also died; or only 50
out of 2000 made it into Heaven. The other 1950 were
The ratio in this example is also 1
in 40 (2000 divided by 50).
Based on this example, only about
1 in 40 is going to Heaven. (50 in 2000)
With the number going to Heaven being
so few, it is obviously very dangerous to just "assume" that
we are going to Heaven, or to "think" our good deeds have
earned us a place in Heaven, in spite of our sins.
It is because of our sins that we need a Savior to forgive our sins
and take us to Heaven. Our good works do not forgive us of our sins.
That's about 2.5% (saints, true
Christians) going to heaven, and 97.5% going somewhere
In fact the Bible verse above implies
that the way is so narrow that leads to life (to eternity
in Heaven), that few even find it.
But the Bible also reassures us with the
phrase "... seek, and ye shall find ... (Mat
So let's continue seeking.
We are seeking "... the way, which
leadeth unto life [leads to eternity in Heaven] ... (Mat
At this point we can be thankful for Jesus'
disciple, Thomas, who, just like ourselves, is being honest about what
he does not know, or is unsure of, and asks the following question:
14:5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord [Jesus], we know not whither
thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus answers with a clear and concise statement
of the way we get to Heaven, for eternity, where God is:
14:6 Jesus saith unto him [Thomas], I [Jesus] am
the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father [God], but by me [by Jesus,
the risen Son of God].
So, "... the way which leads to life
(eternity in Heaven) ..." is Jesus, and "... few there
be that find it (it being Jesus) (Mat
God's word, via this statement in the Bible,
makes it vividly clear that there is no way to eternity in Heaven
with God, except "by me" (by Jesus, the Christ (the Messiah,
the Saviour), the risen Son of God).
Our salvation, then, hinges on
our individual acceptance of Jesus Christ as our personal
Lord and Saviour. For "by me" (by Jesus)
is the only way.
This statement also defines the true Christians,
that collectively make up true Christianity ( Christ's / My Congregation
(Mat 16:18), aka The / My Church ).
Christ's Congregation (The Church) is composed of
individuals who have accepted
God's free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ (Joh
3:16), by asking Jesus Christ to forgive their sins,
and by asking Jesus Christ to be their personal Lord
and Saviour (also known as "Born Again" Christians).
All other "ways" are merely man-made
Religions and/or denominations, regardless of what they call
themselves, and regardless of whether they use the term "christian" or
Churches, denominations, sects, etc., don't go to Heaven.
Only individuals go to Heaven.
(Those born again Christians who overcome.)
With the number going to Heaven
being so few (about 1 in 40, which is only about 2.5%),
it is obviously very dangerous to just "assume" that we are going
Often times we "assume" that since we belong
to a certain "Christian" denomination, that assures our likelihood
of spending eternity in Heaven. Let's look at the denominational
statistics to dispel any such false hopes.
33% of the world call themselves "Christians",
but only about 2.5% of the world are going to Heaven.
19% of the world call themselves Roman
Catholics, but only about 2.5% of the world are going to Heaven.
Most "Christian" denominations are
either considerably larger than 2.5% of the world's population,
or considerably smaller than 2.5% of the world's population.
Therefore, it is very unlikely that a single denomination is the
only denomination going to Heaven. Remember, denominations
don't go to Heaven, only individuals go to Heaven.
7% of the world call themselves Protestants,
but only about 2.5% of the world are going to Heaven.
It is far more likely that some individuals
from each denomination are going to Heaven, since it is each
individual's seeking and finding Jesus (the way) that
leads to spending eternity in Heaven, not a denomination's seeking.
The Bible describes the diversity of those (the 2.5%) finding Jesus
(the way) in these events taking place in heaven:
... for thou [Jesus Christ] wast slain
[crucified], and hast redeemed us to God [purchased us, saved us]
by thy blood [by the shed blood of the sinless Lamb: Jesus Christ]
[, "us" being from] out of every kindred [tribe], and tongue
[language], and people, and nation; (Rev
Finally, the Bible clearly states that the
true Christians, that collectively make up true Christianity
(Christ's Congregation (The Church)), are to have no divisions among
themselves. This means no denominations may divide
or separate true Christians.
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great
multitude [which came [were martyred and raptured] out
of [the] great tribulation (Rev 7:14)],
which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds [tribes],
and people, and tongues [languages], stood before the throne
[of God], and before the Lamb [Jesus Christ], clothed with white
robes, and palms in their hands; (Rev
Now I [Paul] beseech you, brethren, by [in] the name
of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing,
and that there be no divisions
among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together [united]
in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Satan's plan has always been to divide
and conquer using many Religions, denominations, and
Satan has even succeeded in dividing
up "Christians" and "Christianity" into endless denominations.
Accept Jesus Christ
as your personal Lord & Saviour, and from this day forward,
you are a born again Christian,
destined for eternity
in Heaven, bypassing the white
throne judgment of God (Rev 20:6,11).
